Autumn Colors, Northern Lights Observation in Inari

DAY 1 | PARIS / IVALO

Flight to Finnish Lapland on Finnair scheduled flights. Arrival at Ivalo Airport. Transfer to the village of Inari. During the transfer, you will receive your itinerary and an entry voucher for the Siida Museum. Transfer duration approximately 1 hour.

Before or after dinner, delve into the world of the Northern Lights. Your guide will showcase beautiful Aurora photographs. You’ll learn why the Northern Lights appear, discover optimal locations for viewing them, and gain insights into camera settings for capturing these mesmerizing phenomena.

DAY 2 | SAMI CULTURE, DOG FARM VISIT, AND NORTHERN LIGHTS CAMP

The village of Inari is the center of Sámi culture in Finland. The best introduction to the history of the Sámi people and their way of life is to visit the fascinating Sámi Siida Museum. The museum offers exhibitions on reindeer herding, Sámi crafts, Sámi traditions, and the Arctic nature. After the museum visit, you can stroll along the natural trails surrounding the village of Inari. The colors of autumn are at their best in September, and the nearby trails offer a variety of charming views. Before or after the museum, you will visit the husky dog farm. You will meet Arctic sled dogs, each with its own unique qualities that the musher will be happy to share with you. After the visit, return to Inari.

In the evening, a nighttime stroll is the most peaceful way to embark on the quest for dancing auroras. Your guide will lead you through the quiet darkness of the forest to a perfect spot for observing the Northern Lights. A warm drink and a picnic by the blazing campfire will quickly warm you up.

DAY 3 | AUTUMN OUTDOORS AND NORTHERN LIGHTS ON LAKE INARI

Your guide will take you on hiking trails near the village of Inari. The route is relatively easy, and during the hike, your guide will share insights about the surrounding nature. In September, you can also pick berries and mushrooms along the way. A picnic snack by the blazing campfire is included in the tour.

In the late evening after your dinner, you will embark on a cruise on the legendary Lake Inari. If the sky remains clear, you will have the best chances to experience the auroras in a unique location with no light pollution and a clear view of the sky. Even the stars feel closer when there’s nothing but the wild lake surrounding you.

DAY 4 | IVALO / PARIS

It’s time to bid farewell to Inari, hoping you had an unforgettable time.

After breakfast, transfer to Ivalo Airport. Departure to Paris on Finnair scheduled flights.
