Very easyOff the wild northern coast of Norway, on a small wind-swept island, stands Litløy Fyr, a former lighthouse transformed into a unique retreat. Here, between sky and ocean, time seems to stand still. Only the sound of the waves, the cries of seabirds, and the shifting Arctic light accompany your stay.
Litløy Fyr offers a rare and intimate experience, far from everything, in the heart of raw and untouched nature. Accessible only by boat, this historic place invites you to completely disconnect: reading by the sea, contemplating the midnight sun or the northern lights, hiking across the island, or savoring absolute silence in the lighthouse’s glow.
A stay at Litløy Fyr is much more than an escape: it’s an encounter with the most authentic Norway, where light becomes emotion.

Getting here

Visitors must first travel to Bø in the Vesterålen.
From there, a private boat transfer will take you directly to Litløy Fyr.
There are several options for getting to Bø. We often recommend taking the Hurtigruten ferry from Tromsø to Sortland. In Sortland, a private transfer or public transportation will complete the journey. This route offers comfort and breathtaking Arctic scenery, making the trip an unforgettable experience. You can also take the train from Stockholm to Narvik or fly to local airports such as Skagen and Evenes.
Weather
Occasional Arctic storms (typically 3 to 4 times a year, more frequent in winter) may disrupt boat transfers to the island. In such cases, alternative accommodation options on the mainland will be offered to ensure a safe and comfortable stay.
Distances
Sortland : 1h, Narvik : 4h, Stokmarknes (Skagen) 1h30, Harstad/Narvik (Evenes) 3h, Tromsø : 7h.
