Ocean Suites

These suites offer a fantastic view. New double, single, and family rooms are located right on the waterfront. Enjoy your cozy room and luxury bathroom while a delicious breakfast is being prepared for you.

The rooms are equipped with a seating area, a double, twin, or single bed, a minibar, a refrigerator, a kettle, a hairdryer, a television, Wi-Fi connection, and a work desk.

Holiday Apartments

Five holiday apartments including a living room with a comfortable seating area and a private bathroom with a shower. There is also a cozy, fully equipped kitchenette, as well as a refrigerator, stove, coffee machine, and dining area.

The apartments offer a view of the peaceful Ringstad harbor, with a magnificent view of Eidsfjord or the mountains. The holiday apartments are perfect for couples, a group of friends, or a family of five.

One bedroom has a 140 cm bed and a 90 cm bed, while the other bedroom has two 90 cm beds. All apartments are equipped with a television and offer free Wi-Fi

Bjørnhuset – a traditional vacation house

The bathroom is new, equipped with a shower and an additional toilet. The fully equipped kitchen includes an oven, a microwave, a coffee machine, and a large refrigerator with a freezer. The cozy living room features a dining area and a fireplace, as well as a television and free Wi-Fi. The interior of Bjørnhuset is traditional and comfortable. Stairs will lead you to the bedrooms.

The house is located near Ringstad harbor and has its own small garden with patio furniture, where you can enjoy a barbecue.

Blåstua

Blåstua is a traditional holiday home. It has a total of 3 bedrooms on the upper floor. One bedroom is equipped with a double bed, another with a twin bed, and another with a 120 cm bed. The house is ideal for 5 people looking to enjoy a fun vacation together.

On the ground floor, you will find a cozy kitchen, a living room with a pleasant fireplace, a dining area, and a small bathroom. Free Wi-Fi and a television are also available.”

Ringstadgården

Ringstadgården is an exclusive house with an ocean view. It is located above the complex and offers a unique view of Ringstad harbor, the fjords, and the mountains towards the Lofoten. The house is brand new and equipped with comfortable beds for 9 people spread across 5 bedrooms.

A large, well-equipped kitchen and a modern yet cozy living room with a large fireplace. The house also includes a television and free Wi-Fi. There are two bathrooms, both equipped with a shower and toilet. The larger bathroom is also equipped with a bathtub, where you can relax after a fun and exciting day.

Upstairs, in the mezzanine, there is a space dedicated to enjoying the beautiful view. Finally, the house has a large furnished terrace with the possibility of renting a grill.

Straumsneshuset

Straumsneshuset is located 5 km from Ringstad Resort, in a forested area near a lake, with beautiful hiking trails nearby. There are no other houses in the vicinity, so you can enjoy the silence in complete tranquility on one of the two terraces or relax in the garden.

The house was completely renovated in 2019 and offers a high level of comfort. It can accommodate 6 people, with 3 bedrooms, all furnished with new, comfortable beds. The bathroom is spacious, equipped with a shower, a washing machine, and a dryer. The open kitchen is fully equipped with a modern dining area.

Restaurant

In the restaurant, you can discover the best of nature and the ocean directly on your plate. In a relaxed atmosphere with a view of a beautiful landscape, you have the choice between our à la carte menu or the option to try an exclusive three-course menu.

The dishes are based on local ingredients and are inspired by local culinary traditions, with a touch of international influences.

Eagle, bird and fjord safari

Join a safari to discover various species of seabirds, and perhaps the spectacular sea eagle. An experienced guide and photographer will do their best to help you capture images of these magnificent creatures.

During the journey, they will equip you and board the catamaran to explore the surrounding archipelago and fjords. After the excursion, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic meal in the restaurant at Ringstad Resort.

Kayak trips

About the trips

They will introduce you to the natural environment and inform you about the cultural history of the region. They will also talk to you about ongoing conservation and preservation projects. It’s an adventure that is both exciting and educational.

In all our courses and excursions, there will be a guide for 6 to 8 participants to ensure you get the most out of the experience. The guide is certified by Norges Padleforbund (Norwegian Paddle Association).

In all activities, they emphasize safety and enjoyment. They plan and prepare the activities to ensure you know how to use the equipment properly and have the basic knowledge necessary to ensure your own safety. Everyone’s level of experience will be different, so we encourage you to go at your own pace and simply enjoy the experience.

Day trips (with proper equipment and guide)

Kayak trip for beginners – 4 hours

Throughout the summer, they organize daily excursions around the islands of Ringstad, in Bø, in the Vesterålen. Accompanied by a guide, you can explore the sheltered waters around Ringstad and Jørnfjord. The excursion will take place in an area where sea eagles reside, so there is a good chance you will spot one. Additionally, you may also see rare seabirds, seals, and otters. During the excursion, we will take a short break on a beautiful white sandy beach.

Kayaks, as well as all necessary equipment and clothing, are included in the price. From 2 to 8 participants. A guide will be present to assist you.

Full day trip – 8 hours

During full-day excursions, you will paddle around small islets and islands in Jørnfjord and Hellfjord (weather permitting). Hellfjord is a magical and deep fjord with steep mountains, a completely tranquil and pristine area. It’s the perfect place for lunch and a break to stretch your legs before paddling back to Ringstad. During this tour, you will become accustomed to kayaking and simply enjoy the surrounding nature.

Course in sea kayaking

Introduction to kayaking (beginner)

This course is ideal for those who want to test whether kayaking is right for them. The participant receives an introduction to both kayaking and the necessary equipment. A simple and practical exercise in paddling and using the equipment is conducted. At the end of the course, you will paddle to an island.

Kayak basic course (beginner)

Throughout the summer, they offer a basic sea kayaking course. In this course, you will learn the practical use of kayaking. The exercises will teach you simple paddling techniques and provide a good introduction to both sea kayaking and the equipment. In addition to familiarizing, you with basic safety procedures and practices, you will learn how to maneuver the kayak effectively. The course takes place in the archipelago around Ringstad, with many fun activities and exciting challenges.

Northern light photography

Under the guidance of an experienced photographer and wilderness guide, you will learn techniques for landscape, aurora borealis, and wildlife photography, from the most basic to the most advanced. The courses take place in one of the most beautiful areas in the world. It will be a few intense days for those who want to develop their skills, all in dramatic landscapes. Ringstad Resort is surrounded by pristine wilderness and abundant wildlife. Additionally, you will have a great chance of capturing the aurora borealis.

The aurora borealis photographer and wilderness guide will provide professional advice both indoors and outdoors. He will be your instructor and speaks English, German, and Norwegian. You will be inspired by presentations and lectures, image critiques, outdoor photographic demonstrations, and discussions while socializing. You will work with different techniques and themes. The goal is for each of you to discover new things and acquire new skills, such as knowledge of composition, techniques, image processing, light, and reflections and considerations around animal, landscape, and light photography.

You will work in small groups to facilitate individual feedback and follow-up, so that both beginners and more experienced photographers can participate.

You will stay at Ringstad Resort, a charming place near the sea, surrounded by mountains, fjords, and islets, on the outer coast of Vesterålen. It’s about 60 kilometers from Sortland, where we will pick up our guests arriving by airport bus or Hurtigruten.

Bicycles rides

Experience Bø’s stunning landscape at a comfortable pace

Travel through the southern part of the island, from Ringstad to Bø Church, passing through Steine and the statue of ‘The Man from the Sea.’ Take a break to admire the open-air gallery Artscape Nordland or explore the past at the Bø Museum before heading towards Straume. You will pass by the beautiful beach of Fjærvollstranda. You will also have the opportunity to shop at Coop Prix before returning to Ringstad. The journey is about 40 kilometers with no major inclines.

Trip along the sea to Hovden

If you are looking for authentic Norwegian nature, an excursion to Hovden is recommended along the northern parts of the island. The trip takes about two hours, covering approximately 28 kilometers from Ringstad in one direction. You will travel on beautiful roads and can stop for refreshments at the local Joker grocery store in Eidet. The road becomes steeper further north (up to 70 meters above sea level) along the coast. In Sandvika, you will find a beautiful white sandy beach where you can relax and enjoy the view. It is highly recommended to visit Hovden to experience an authentic Norwegian fishing village – have lunch or dinner at Storhavet Café. The total trip length is approximately 56 kilometers.

It is recommended to reserve your bike in advance for this trip, but rentals are accepted on-site depending on availability. The bikes are of high quality and they offer a variety of models according to your needs.

Hiking

Bø in the Vesterålen region is known as a “paradise for hikers” — and rightly so. There are many beautiful trails in the mountains, along the coast, and near wooded waters. They will take you on various hikes depending on the weather conditions.

Vetten bua

When heading to Vetten (467 meters above sea level), you follow an easy trail with some moderately steep sections. After about 2 hours, you reach the summit, where you can enjoy a spectacular view of Bø, the mountains of Lofoten, and the islands of Gaukværøy and Litløy. It is their favorite hike in the area. Upon reaching the mountain cabin at the summit, you can enjoy a prepared lunch. If the weather is good and you have time left, you can cross Nåla to reach Lynghaugtinden (504 meters above sea level) before heading back.

Cultural trail and fjord safari by boat

While hiking on the cultural trail from Ringstad to Klaksjord, you will learn about the Sami people of the coast. You will take the old walking route before stopping at Blomenholm to cross the suspension bridge and take a short break. Upon your arrival in Klaksjord, you will have lunch on the beach (known as fjæra to them). From there, you will be picked up by boat and taken on a short excursion in the fjords before returning to Ringstad.

Hike by the coast

On this excursion, you will walk along the coast between mountains ranging from 5 to 700 meters in height. You will pass by potholes, lighthouses, and arrive at one of the most beautiful beaches in Bø. Once you arrive, you will take a long break and, if you like, go for a swim. Finally, you will continue along the moss-covered, verdant rocks until you reach Skålbrekka, where you will be picked up and returned to Ringstad.

Winter kayaking

The air is clean, the water is crystal clear, the sunset is beautiful, and the landscape is white — this sums up the experience of winter kayaking. It’s an incredible adventure! Upon arrival at Ringstad, your experienced guide will teach you everything you need to know about kayaking and offer simple practical exercises. Dressed in dry suits with warm layers underneath, you will embark on an easy excursion in the nearby archipelago. With a bit of luck, you may spot winter wildlife in the fjords and encounter animals such as eagles, otters, and seals. Sometimes, you may even come across a moose or a small whale crossing the fjord. Once you return to Ringstad Resort, a hot fish soup will be waiting for you.

Snowshoeing in beautiful winter landscape

Snowshoeing is an activity suitable for everyone, regardless of age or experience. You don’t have to walk far to discover pristine nature and a calming silence. Your local guide will choose the hike based on the weather conditions. The goal is always to have fun. During the hike, you will stop to observe animals, tracks in the snow, and take photos. Halfway through, you will take a lunch break, light a campfire, and enjoy a cup of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate.

The hike lasts about 4 hours, but it can be shorter or longer depending on your preferences. If conditions allow, you will use a spark (Norwegian sled) to reach the hiking trail. Excursions can be arranged upon request each day from December 1 to April 15. In case of no snow, they will offer you an alternative hike.
