One of the highlights of Vesterålen Rorbuer is its authentic Rorbu accommodations, which date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Rorbus, or fisherman’s cabins, were traditionally used by fishermen during the cod fishing season. These cabins were built on stilts over the water, allowing fishermen to easily access their boats and the ocean. Today, many of these historic cabins have been renovated and converted into comfortable accommodations for travelers. The restaurant is located in a former cod steam factory and offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.  In addition to dining, visitors can also take advantage of a range of activities and experiences at Vesterålen Rorbuer, including hiking, fishing, kayaking, and wildlife watching. The resort offers guided tours and excursions, allowing visitors to explore the area’s stunning natural beauty and learn more about its history and culture.
