Hengill, and the geothermal energy provider Nesjavellir. The neighboring Nesjavellir geothermal power plant supplies Reykjavik and its surroundings with geothermal heating. The Nesjavellir area is a protected water area that has plenty of hot water due to the energy produced by the dormant volcano Mt. Hengill located next to the hotel. Water is pumped directly from the ground and sent through pipes to Reykjavík. Water vapor is used to produce electricity, making the plant 100% green and sustainable. The junior suite measures 37 square meters and features a king-size bed, a sofa bed, a complimentary mini-bar, and a Nespresso coffee machine. The bed is hypoallergenic and extremely comfortable. Free Wi-Fi is included in the rooms and common areas.
