In winter, guests can soak in the warm geothermal waters while enjoying the magical contrast of snow-covered trees and steaming pools. The atmosphere is cozy, peaceful, and truly unforgettable –especially when the northern lights appear overhead.

In summer, the lagoon transforms into a vibrant retreat under the midnight sun. Surrounded by lush greenery, long daylight hours, and clear skies, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of adventure and sightseeing in the north.

Geothermal experience

L’espace piscine du Forest Lagoon offre une expérience de baignade géothermique unique, entourée d’une nature luxuriante.

Forest Lagoon’s pool area offers a unique geothermal bathing experience surrounded by natural beauty.

Guests can soak in warm, mineral-rich infinity pools while taking in panoramic views of the forest, ocean, and mountains. The area includes a swim-up bar serving drinks, a cozy cold plunge, and a steam room built into the hillside.

With its natural stone design and tranquil atmosphere, the lagoon creates a deep sense of relaxation and connection with Icelandic nature.

Changing Facilities

Forest Lagoon offers 120 free lockers for guests in gender-specific changing areas. Facilities include a communal shower area and private shower cubicles, each with complimentary toiletries. As per Icelandic spa tradition, all guests are required to shower thoroughly before entering the lagoon to ensure cleanliness and maintain water quality.

Forest Lagoon also offers accessible changing rooms and showers for guests with disabilities, ensuring a comfortable and inclusive experience for all visitors.

Swim-Up Bars

While relaxing in the warm geothermal water, guests can order directly from our swim-up bar. We offer a variety of refreshing options, including

• A wide selection of non-alcoholic beverages

You can enjoy their drink without ever leaving the lagoon – the perfect way to combine relaxation and refreshment.

Finnish Dry Sauna

The sauna harnesses the power of dry heat. Unlike steam rooms, also known as wet saunas, moisture and steam play no part in a Finnish dry sauna. The humidity is kept around 20% and the temperature is around 80°C. At our sauna, along with enjoying all the health benefits dry sauna brings, you will also experience a unique view over Eyjafjörður and the mountains surrounding it. Just remember to wear your swimsuits in there.

Forest Bistro

Forest Bistro offers light dishes in a pleasant environment which consists of a fireplace, wonderful view over the fjord, and an outside dining area with a view of Eyjafjarðarsveit, Akureyri and Hlíðarfjall, surrounded by the forest. The Bistro is open between 10am and 10pm. The kitchen is open every day between 11am and 3pm and between 4pm and 8pm.
