14 Kværnø 19′ fishing boats for rent, VIP Big Boat charters (36 feet), and guided tours to see the northern lights, sea eagles, and marine landscapes. Occasionally, the luckiest guests may even spot whales!

Senja is the perfect place for snowshoeing and ski touring in winter. It’s an incredible destination to witness the midnight sun in summer and to enjoy endless mountain hikes and explore nature during spring, summer, and autumn. Not to mention, Senja is literally a paradise for photographers all year round!

Small Cabin

Each of the two small cabins includes one bedroom with a large bunk bed.
The cabins are located on the ground floor facing the sea (without a direct view of the fjord). They include a living room with cable TV and wireless Internet, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious bathroom.

Tor Steinar Stua

Tor Steinar Stua is located by the water, offering a beautiful view of the fjord with stunning mountains in the background.

Tor Steinar Stua is a cozy apartment located on the ground floor of the large house, Thea Stua. It is fully self-contained with a separate entrance. Upon request, both apartments can be rented together, connected through adjoining doors, increasing the capacity to 8+4 people.
It includes 2 bedrooms: 1 double bedroom (with 1 double bed) and 1 twin bedroom (with 2 single beds). There is a bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen connected to the living room, which includes a sitting area with a TV.

The apartment is not fully soundproof, so there may be noise from the upper apartment.

Bodil Stua

Bodil Stua is an apartment located directly by the sea on a wooden pier. It offers a spectacular view of the fjord.

The apartment has a reputation for being very cozy and feeling like home. It is furnished in a modern northern Norwegian style. The house includes 1 twin bedroom and 2 single bedrooms. The two beds in the twin bedroom can be combined into a double bed. The apartment comfortably accommodates 4 people.

There is a large living room, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom. The house is equipped with a TV and wireless Internet.

It has a reputation for being warm and welcoming, with breathtaking views of the fjord and mountains. A large wooden terrace is perfect for observing the midnight sun in summer and the northern lights in winter. Don’t forget your exercise mat for an inspiring yoga session!

Torleif Stua is a modern-style apartment spectacularly situated on a wooden pier. It includes 3 bedrooms: 2 single bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom, with a total capacity of 4 beds.

The house includes 2 twin bedrooms and 2 single bedrooms. There is a spacious living room, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom. All rooms are easily accessible from the hallway. The house is equipped with cable TV and wireless Internet.

Ingebjørg Stua is located about a 2-minute walk from the restaurant and docks. Guests can enjoy beautiful views of the sea and mountains. The entrance to the house is at the back, offering some privacy, and guests can take advantage of a large outdoor seating area. Recommendation this house for a group of friends.

Kristine Stua is a modern-style house with mountain views. The apartment was renovated in 2018 and features a contemporary design. The house includes 2 double bedrooms and 3 single bedrooms, accommodating up to 7 people. There is a spacious living room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, and bathroom. All rooms are easily accessible from the hallway. The house is equipped with cable TV and wireless Internet.

It has a reputation for being a warm and welcoming place where guests feel at home.
Kristine Stua is located about a 3-minute walk from the restaurant and docks. Guests can enjoy stunning views of the sea and mountains.

Ole-Wang Gården

Ole-Wang Gården is a large house containing two apartments that can be used separately or as one large unit.

Each of the two sub-apartments features 4 single bedrooms, a living room with cable TV and wireless Internet, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom.

Ole-Wang Gården was rebuilt based on old photographs of this once-historic building. The exterior has been fully renovated, while the interior has been updated to modern standards. Ole-Wang Gården was originally owned by a local merchant, Ole Wang, who lived on the 2nd and 3rd floors while running a family shop on the ground floor.

Recommendation this house for groups of up to 8 people who prefer their own bedrooms. It is also ideal for two families or groups of friends who enjoy having private facilities but also want the option to spend time together.

The apartments are not fully soundproof, so there may be some noise from the other unit.

Solveig Stua and Ragna Stua are twin apartments built in the mid-2010s.
The entire building is designed in a traditional Nordland style, visible in the house’s facade.
The house is situated on a wooden pier and divided into two modern apartments.

Each apartment includes 5 bedrooms (3 with twin beds that can be combined into a double, 1 single bedroom, and 1 with bunk beds).

The house has 2 large bathrooms, a spacious living room with cable TV and wireless Internet, and a fully equipped kitchen.

As the house is situated on a wooden pier, guests can enjoy a large terrace with seating and breathtaking views—of both the midnight sun in summer and the northern lights in winter.

Northern Lights Apartments

The Northern Lights Apartments are three luxury apartments built in the late 2010s.
The building’s style is a fusion of classic northern Norwegian architecture with modern design. Each apartment has been furnished and equipped to a high standard for extra guest comfort.

The apartments are located right above the boat docks, with easy access from both the front and back of the buildings.
Each apartment has access to a spacious terrace facing the ocean, offering magnificent views of the northern lights in winter, the midnight sun in summer, and an incredible year-round vantage point.

Each Northern Lights Apartment includes 5 bedrooms, a large living room, a spacious and fully equipped kitchen, and 2 bathrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs).

Among the five bedrooms, there are 3 with single beds and 2 with twin beds that can be combined into doubles.

On request, an extra bed can be provided for an eighth guest.

Thea Stua

Nestled along the serene shores of the fjord, Thea Stua offers a harmonious blend of luxury and natural beauty.

Thea Stua is a spacious house featuring a full-sized living and dining area. It has a fully equipped kitchen with a compact seating area and two bathrooms. There are 5 bedrooms with the following configuration:
• Bedroom #1 has a single bed.
• Bedroom #2 has 2 single beds (can be joined together).
• Bedroom #3 has a double bed.
• Bedroom #4 has 2 single beds (can be joined together).
• Bedroom #5 has 1 double bed and 1 single bed.

The total capacity of the house is 8 people. All spaces are easily accessible, and a spacious hallway on the ground floor provides ample storage for sports or fishing equipment.

Whether you choose to relax, enjoy television, wireless internet, or simply gaze out the windows, you will be greeted by panoramic views of the surrounding nature, including the pristine beauty of the fjord.

The main part of the house is on the upper floor, with some bedrooms located on the top level.

For those who desire even more space, the ground floor of the house features Tor Steinar Stua, a separate and cozy apartment that can be added to your booking, increasing the accommodation space for an additional 3 people (8 + 3 total). This flexibility makes Thea Stua an ideal destination for families, groups, or anyone looking for a little extra room to spread out.

Thea Stua is located just a 3-minute walk from the main building of Mefjord Brygge and the fishing docks. It offers parking and a terrace. At Thea Stua, every detail is designed to create a perfect connection between comfort and the inspiring landscape.

A Culinary Journey in Senja

Salteriet, our new maritime-style restaurant, offers excellent traditional cuisine from Northern Norway, perfectly complementing your stay at Mefjord Brygge. The food we serve is locally referred to as the “yttersidameny” or “local menu”.

Focus on using locally sourced ingredients, adding a touch of modernity and creativity to “reinvent” some traditional dishes.

The chef will take you on a unique culinary journey, leaving you with an inspiring experience to take home alongside other impressions of Senja.

Breakfast in the morning and lunch around noon. In the afternoon, the restaurant offers appetizers, main courses, and delicious desserts à la carte. You can enjoy these with a drink of your choice, prepared by our skilled bartender.

Arctic Boat Safari

Season: January – October

One of the best ways to experience the unique landscape of Senja is by joining the Arctic Boat Safari.
This boat excursion is aboard the deluxe 36-foot Big Boat, which features heating, a comfortable indoor seating area, and the option to walk on the deck for better views.

The Arctic Boat Safari focuses on eagle watching, marine wildlife, and the stunning Arctic landscape. During the trip, we will visit some of the most beautiful coastal destinations, admire the remoteness and wilderness of the Arctic, and, weather permitting, sneak a glimpse of the daily lives of local fishermen.

The guides will ensure this is an exciting experience that may include sights of wildlife such as sea eagles, seals, humpback whales, or orcas.

Northern Lights Watching

Seasons :

From late summer through fall and winter, we have excellent opportunities to see the Northern Lights.
Thanks to the remote location, there is no light pollution, and on clear nights, the sky is perfectly visible.

Knuten, Tungeneset, and Bergsbotn are a few of the excellent nearby spots to start your Northern Lights adventure.

During the Northern Lights Tour, you will visit some of the most spectacular spots and viewpoints to witness this phenomenon, and the experienced guides will share tips and tricks for Northern Lights photography.

Snowshoeing in Nature

Season: January – April

From the first deep snow (usually December/January) until April, we offer excellent opportunities for snowshoeing adventures.

Thanks to the secluded location, you’re perfectly positioned to experience untouched wilderness by walking right outside Mefjord Brygge.

• Daytime Version: Focuses on enjoying nature, hearing stories, and taking in spectacular views.
• Nighttime Version: Includes wearing headlamps, walking through the snow under the night sky, and building a campfire. The highlight of this version is the chance to see the Northern Lights.

During these snowshoeing activities, you’ll explore some of the most stunning spots and viewpoints just beyond the village of Mefjordvær. Our knowledgeable guides will share fascinating stories and insights about the surrounding nature.

Husky Safari Adventure

Season: January – April

Ideal base for your adventures and explorations in the region, and the Husky Safari is one of the highlights—an unforgettable memory of Northern Norway.

Ski Touring

Season: February – May

Senja offers a variety of local peaks perfect for ski touring. With no ski lifts in the area, the ascent to these remote skiing spots reveals breathtaking views of Grand Senja, surrounded by the ocean. At the summit, you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views before the adrenaline-filled descent through untouched powder—a trail often unmarked and uniquely yours for the day.

Ski touring is an addictive, physically demanding, and adrenaline-boosting activity. Mefjord Brygge serves as an excellent base for exploring Senja’s peaks, such as Keipen, Store Hesten, Roalden, Burstind, Stormoa, and Kvænan, among others.

Professional local guides passionate about showcasing the most spectacular ski routes. While some skiing experience is required, even seasoned professionals benefit from a local guide for safety and maximizing their experience. Guides also provide excellent company, making your time on the slopes even more enjoyable with like-minded skiers.

Boat Fishing

Safety:
All rules provided during the check-in briefing must be followed for a safe fishing experience. Understanding maritime rules, boat operations, and safety procedures is essential. Note: If born after 1980, a motorboat license is required to operate the boat.

Fish Species:
Common catches include cod, halibut, pollock, haddock, redfish, and wolffish. Availability depends on the season, fishing techniques, and locations.

Location:
Mefjord Brygge’s prime location on the edge of Senja offers easy access to some of Norway’s top fishing spots via a short boat ride.

Boats:
19-foot aluminum Kværnø boats with 50-horsepower motors, GPS, and fish finders. Each boat is recommended for 2–4 fishermen.

Guided Fishing:

Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a beginner, our experienced fishing guides can help you catch trophy fish and improve your technique by guiding you to the right spots with the best methods.

Equipment:
Guests can bring their own gear or rent from our shop, which offers fishing rods, reels, and floatation suits. Essential fishing equipment is also available for purchase.

Facilities:
The dock area is equipped with:

• A spacious filleting room with fresh water.
• A fish scale and fish boxes.
• Freezers to store your catch before departure (18 kg per person limit).

Arrival & Rental Period:
Most fishermen visit for seven days, though stays of any length are welcome. Long-term rates apply for a minimum of 7 days, with check-in starting at 14:00 (same as accommodation). For shorter rentals (6 days or less), boats are available daily from 8:00.
