Embark on an extraordinary experience in the heart of the wild landscapes of the British Columbia coast. These lands are home to unspoilt nature and exceptional wildlife. The Maple Leaf cruise ship, with only 8 passengers, opens up horizons inaccessible to large ships, for an authentic and personalised journey.
Thanks to special permits and collaboration with the First Nations, you’ll discover unspoilt areas and share unique moments with the locals. Each member of the crew is passionate about this region and will be delighted to help you discover the many facets of the coastline.

DAY 1
- Board at Kitimat (British Columbia).
- Cruising Douglas Channel. Anchorage: beautiful estuary – possible shore trip to explore estuary.
DAY 2-5
- Visit to a remote and natural hot spring.
- Visit whale researchers at their remote research station.
- Marine mammal viewing in aptly named Whale Channel.
- Sailing the outer coast. Going ashore on wild islands, exploring intertidal life, marine mammals.
- Humpback whale viewing.
- Inner islands rainforest and wildflower exploration.
- Visit Kitasoo/Xai’xais village of Klemtu for big house tour and village visit.
- Sailing to remote island group, sea otter viewing, seabird viewing, beachcombing, optional evening kayak.
DAY 6
- Cruising the outer islands, scenic coastal hike with a view, humpback whale viewing, exploring islets by kayak or zodiac.
DAY 7-8
- Rounding Cape Caution, whale watching, entering Queen Charlotte Strait, home of orcas.
- Killer whale viewing, sea lion viewing, possible dolphins, rainforest hike.
DAY 9
- Cruising to Port McNeill (British Columbia).
THE BOAT
The Maple Leaf, a luxury racing schooner built in 1904 in Vancouver, is a historic Canadian vessel that combines elegance and robustness. She offers unique and immersive expeditions, allowing you to explore the wildest corners of the coast in comfort and safety.
On board, enjoy panoramic views, take part in the navigation and discover warm communal spaces, such as a convivial lounge and a library focusing on nature and local culture. The boat has exploration equipment such as kayaks, inflatable boats and a hydrophone. The semi-private cabins are comfortable and welcoming, guaranteeing an authentic and intimate experience.
