Hawkhill Forest Restaurant

Hawkhill’s Forest Restaurant is a unique private dining concept available to all Hawkhill guests. Whether you’re organizing a conference or a celebration, our restaurant is here to cater to all your dining needs.

The blend of traditional and modern extends to their catering services as well. They aim to provide their guests with the best possible Finnish culinary experience, accompanied by personalized service.

The Forest Restaurant services are available throughout the Hawkhill Cottage Resort complex. You can choose to dine in the traditional shelter in the heart of nature, the Korpela Laavu, in one of the cottages, or amidst the Finnish forest.

They use Finnish berries, mushrooms, and wild herbs, locally sourced ingredients, and organic products whenever possible. They strive to ensure a low carbon footprint for their food by offering delicious vegetarian options. The meat they serve is either game or produced sustainably and locally. Their fish is raised sustainably and ASC certified.

Korpela Laavu

Korpela Laavu, a traditional form of shelter in the Finnish wilderness on the edge of Nuuksio National Park, is one of the most breathtaking in southern Finland. It serves both as an event space and a dining area for Hawkhill’s Forest Restaurant.

Functioning as a conference space, dining room, meeting place, or even a cocktail venue, nestled among the trees on the side of a rocky cliff, the shelter creates a magical atmosphere, and the restaurant ensures it is accompanied by the perfect meal for the occasion.

The laavu is available for reservation from spring to autumn. If you’re looking for something exceptional to add to your vacation in Nuuksio National Park or your company event, why not try dining in the heart of the Finnish forest at Hawkhill’s laavu.

One of Korpela Laavu’s specialties is Chef Anssi Lohvansuu’s outdoor cooking class. Try your hand at campfire cooking and learn his secrets with Anssi. During the process, you and your team can enjoy a delicious four-course meal at the laavu. The class is an excellent choice for any corporate outing.

They offer a gourmet menu at the laavu. Designed for groups of 2 to 12 people, it’s a tantalizing experience served at your table. Working by the campfire, Chef Mari Hyyryläinen plans and prepares an unforgettable meal with seasonal ingredients. The food is served under the stars at tables draped in sheepskins, illuminated by candles and lanterns.
