Programme détaillé

DAY 1 | PARIS / IVALO – INARI

Flight to Finnish Lapland on regular Finnair flights. Arrival at Ivalo Airport. You will be picked up at Ivalo Airport and driven to the village of Inari, where you will check into your hotel room at Hotel Inari. Your guide will brief you on the upcoming days and make final checks to ensure you have everything you need for the trip. Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 2 | INARI – SEVETTIJÄRVI (approx. 130 km)

After breakfast, meet at the safari office. Once we’ve put on our winter gear and listened to the safety instructions, you’re ready to start your adventure.

Today, you’ll travel north from the village of Inari to Sevettijärvi. You’ll first follow the frozen Lake Inari, known for its ruggedness and beauty. The latter part of the route also passes partially through the forest. Enjoying the magnificent landscapes, you’ll slowly make your way to the local reindeer farm.

During the day, you’ll enjoy a lunch or picnic by the fire. Overnight at Sanila Reindeer Farm. After a day of riding, a nice hot sauna is sensational. Your day ends with a delicious dinner.

Accommodation: lodge rooms for 2-6 people per room.

DAY 3 | SEVETTIJÄRVI – KIRKENES (approx. 60 km)

After breakfast, you’ll hop on your snowmobile and cross the Norwegian border. Today, you will reach the Varanger Fjord of the Arctic Ocean! The landscapes of Northern Norway are stunning. The ice age has shaped the shores into fjords. Trees are sparse, and the vegetation has adapted to extreme climatic conditions.

After checking in at the Snowhotel Kirkenes, you’ll continue with a King Crab safari:

“This excursion is done by snowmobile, and you will ride in a sled. Your fisherman/guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you in 15 minutes to the Snowhotel Kirkenes camp outside of Kirkenes. Here, your guide will help you dress and give you a safety briefing before you board the sled pulled by the snowmobile. Then, the excursion begins, and you ride on the ice of the fjord to find the holes where the King Crab traps are set. You will help pull up the cages from the depths, heavy with King Crab. Your experienced guide will tell you interesting facts about the fascinating and enormous King Crab as you watch the crabs and prepare them for dinner. After taking a few mandatory photos with your big catch, you return to the Snowhotel restaurant. The next part of this excursion is learning how to cook the crabs. After that, it’s time to relax at the restaurant and enjoy the view with a cup of coffee or tea while the crabs are steamed. The crab legs are served in the Northern Norwegian style with bread, butter, mayonnaise, and lemon, and our expert will also teach you how to open the legs like a king or queen. Drinks, such as wine, beer, or mineral water, can be ordered at the table. After the meal, your driver will take you back to your hotel in Kirkenes.

Duration: approximately 4 hours.”

In the evening, it’s time to relax. If the sky is clear, you might have the chance to see the Northern Lights. Dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Gammi cabins for 2-4 people per cabin.

DAY 4 | KIRKENES – SEVETTIJÄRVI (approx. 60 km)

After breakfast, visit the Snowhotel to admire the magnificent ice sculptures and snow constructions. Shortly after the visit, it is time to return to Finland.

Depending on the schedule, lunch will be served en route or upon arrival in Sevettijärvi.

Sauna and dinner at the reindeer farm.

Accommodation: lodge rooms for 2 to 6 people per room.

DAY 5 | SEVETTIJÄRVI – INARI (approx. 130 km)

After breakfast, you will start your last day of snowmobiling. Your route will take you once again across the vast Lake Inari, the third-largest lake in Finland. During the day, you will have lunch or a picnic by the fire. You will return to Inari in the afternoon or early evening, depending on weather conditions and your pace.

Accommodation: Hotel Inari in double rooms.

DAY 6 | IVALO / PARIS

After breakfast, you will be picked up and driven to Ivalo Airport. It is time to say goodbye to Inari and the Arctic Ocean, but the memories of this adventure will likely stay with you forever.
