DAY 3 | NORTHERN LIGHTS TOUR WITH PHOTOGRAPH 4H
Breakfast.
Free day to explore Svolvær.
Svolvær is a picturesque small town known for its spectacular landscapes, steep mountains, and crystal-clear waters. Often considered the gateway to the Lofoten Islands, it is an ideal starting point for discovering the region’s many natural wonders, such as fjords, white sandy beaches, and, of course, the Northern Lights.
The town is also a cultural and historical hub, featuring museums, art galleries, and local craft shops.
Lunch on your own.
In the evening, Northern Lights excursion with a photographer.
The Lofoten Islands are perfectly situated just below the auroral oval, offering prime conditions for observing the Northern Lights. As night falls, the auroras may become visible, provided the sky is clear. In case of cloudy weather, we will do our best to find a location with a clear sky. The prime season for viewing the Northern Lights extends from September to April. Our excursions mainly head to the northern side of Lofoten, where the absence of artificial light and a clear northern horizon offer the best conditions for witnessing this celestial display.
Photographing the Northern Lights can be challenging, but your guide will provide all the necessary tips. Your guide will also take photos and send them to you after your trip and can show you how to capture your own shots of the Northern Lights.
Return to Svolvær.
Overnight stay.
DAY 4 | SEA KAYAKING 2H
Breakfast.
Have you ever imagined gliding peacefully over crystal-clear waters, surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of the Lofoten Islands in Norway? If kayaking has always intrigued you but you’ve hesitated because you’re a beginner, then kayaking in Svolvær is the perfect introduction to this sport.
This kayaking excursion is designed for beginners, ensuring a comfortable and safe experience for everyone. The kayaks used for your excursion are stable tandem models, ideal for those new to kayaking. These kayaks offer a sense of balance and security on the water, allowing you to learn and enjoy the experience with confidence.
Before setting out on your adventure, your friendly and experienced guides will meet you at our base located in the port of Svolvær. Here, you will be provided with all necessary equipment, including life vests, paddles, and waterproof bags for your personal belongings. Your guides will also give you a comprehensive instruction session, covering everything from basic paddling techniques to safety procedures. This ensures that even if it’s your first time in a kayak, you will feel prepared and confident as you take to the sea.
The adventure starts right from the port, where you will paddle through the serene waters surrounding Svolvær. As you navigate the calm sea, you’ll be just above the water’s surface, propelled by your own strength. This unique vantage point connects you directly with nature and offers stunning views of the rugged coastlines and distant mountains that characterize the Lofoten Islands.
The route you take is carefully chosen to showcase the best of the scenic beauty of the Lofoten. Depending on weather and sea conditions, you might pass by historic fishing cabins perched at the water’s edge, spot seabirds like puffins and eagles in their natural habitat, and even encounter marine animals such as seals or otters.
At the end of the tour, you’ll return to the port of Svolvær, enriched with new skills and unforgettable memories from your exploration of the Lofoten Islands from the water.
