DAY 1 – ARRIVAL IN THE FAROE ISLANDS

Arrival in the Faroe Islands in the evening, followed by a short transfer to the newly renovated Hotel Vágar, conveniently located close to the airport.

If time and daylight allow, there may be an opportunity for a brief visit to the nearby village of Bøur or the iconic Múlafossur waterfall, both just a short drive from the hotel.

These early impressions offer a beautiful introduction to the dramatic Faroese landscape.

The remainder of the evening is at leisure, allowing time to relax after the journey and settle in before the days ahead.

DAY 2 – HELICOPTER TO MYKINES & ARRIVAL ON THE ISLAND

In the morning, you depart by helicopter to the remote island of Mykines, enjoying spectacular views over the North Atlantic and the dramatic Faroese coastline. Upon arrival, you are welcomed to one of the Faroe Islands’ most atmospheric locations, known for its steep cliffs, powerful seas, and distinctive birdlife.

After settling in, the remainder of the day is spent exploring the island at a relaxed pace. Weather permitting, you will enjoy a guided walk through the village and surrounding landscapes, with panoramic views across cliffs and valleys. In early autumn, puffins may still be seen in the area.

Accommodation is at the historic Á Lonini guesthouse, where your local host and guide will take care of you throughout the stay. The evening is spent in peaceful surroundings, with home-cooked meals prepared using local ingredients.

DAY 3 – EXPLORING MYKINES

Today is dedicated to further exploration of Mykines and its rugged natural surroundings. Accompanied by your local guide, there is time to experience more of the island’s dramatic landscapes, learn about its birdlife, history, and traditions, and enjoy the calm and quiet that characterise the island outside the busy summer season.

Weather permitting, the day includes guided walks to scenic viewpoints offering sweeping views of the cliffs, sea, and surrounding islands. There is also time to simply enjoy the unique atmosphere of island life at a slower pace, before returning to the guesthouse for another evening of local hospitality and Faroese cuisine.

DAY 4 – RETURN TO TÓRSHAVN & OPTIONAL EXPERIENCES

In the late morning, you depart Mykines by helicopter via Vágar Airport, arriving in Tórshavn around midday (approximately 11:20, or around 13:00 on Sundays). After checking in at your centrally located hotel, the afternoon is free to relax or join one of the optional experiences.

An optional driver-guided excursion offers the opportunity to explore some of the Faroe Islands’ most striking landscapes. The tour includes a visit to the remote village of Saksun, beautifully situated among mountains and a tidal lagoon, followed by a journey north to Klaksvík, the islands’ second-largest town, surrounded by dramatic fjords and mountain scenery. Along the way, your local driver-guide shares insights into Faroese life, history, and nature, with time for scenic photo stops at carefully selected viewpoints. The return journey to Tórshavn includes a drive through the Eysturoy Subsea Tunnel, home to the world’s only underwater roundabout.

In the evening, you may choose to enjoy dinner at one of Tórshavn’s renowned restaurants as an optional add-on.

Overnight at Hotel Brandan, a modern, eco-certified hotel offering comfortable facilities and a relaxed atmosphere.

DAY 5 – DAY AT LEISURE IN TÓRSHAVN

Enjoy a full day at leisure in the charming capital of Tórshavn. Take time to explore the historic old town with its narrow streets and traditional grass-roofed houses, browse local boutiques, cafés, and galleries, or simply enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the city.

Alternatively, you may choose from a range of optional add-ons. These include wellness experiences such as a visit to the Ress Spa – the Wellness House at Hotel Føroyar, located just a short drive from the city centre, where you can unwind in peaceful surroundings while enjoying panoramic views over Tórshavn.

DAY 6 – DEPARTURE

After breakfast, your driver will meet you at the hotel for your transfer to the airport.
