Number of participants : Min 4 persons, max 12 persons

Equipment: Participants have their own outdoor clothing due to the weather. Please ask for the whole list of equipment after booking.

Equipment included in the price: All the special outdoor equipment for activities.

By additional cost: Winter clothing, mittens, headwear, boots 90 €/set/person/week.

Tour level: Moderate. Participants are required to have normal basic fitness.

Language : English.

Insurance : We require participants to have their own insurance for skiing and other outdoor  activities in Finland and in arctic weather conditions.

DAY 1 | PARIS / OULU

Finnair flights to Oulu. Arrival to Oulu Airport, where you meet your guide is waiting for you. Approximately two hours of transport to Syöte. Meeting the group and accommodation. Welcoming dinner, short briefing, introduction of Syöte National Park, and the program after dinner. Safety issues and discussion about sustainable tourism and how we put it into practice during our trip. Warm sauna and sweet dreams surrounded by peaceful and quiet nature.

DAY 2 |

Activities   begin after a complete Finnish breakfast with many local delicacies. Dressing up for the day outside, in pure white nature! Meeting in the teepee on the yard, fire for the tea and coffee, basic knowledge about our country, and old Christmas traditions, and lunch is served in the tepee. A short snowshoeing trip to the snowy hills! After lunch, we get inside the cabin and take a rest. Later we start making Christmas cookies and traditional Star-pastries together. Great dinner from the buffet, sauna experience, and accommodation in your room. Optional Northern lights trip to the hill or on the lake ice.

DAY 3 |

After breakfast we’ll visit the Syöte National Park Visitor Centre and the interesting exhibition which gives you a learning experience about the nature and history of the area. Hiking to the Teerivaara wilderness hut. The trail goes on in varied terrain, mostly on small forest paths. For the lunch, tasty soup is served during the tour.

After lunch we visit a local reindeer farm. Owner shows us the place and you have a change to cuttle the reindeer and feed them with lichen. Transport back to the accommodation. Dinner, sauna. Optional Northern Lights trip to the hill or the lake ice.

DAY 4 |

After a tasty breakfast, we take skin-based skis and start skiing trip to the lake ice and hills! Lovely picnic lunch outside. Skiing back to the cabin. In the evening we’ll meet Santa Claus who brings the presents for the families around the beautifully decorated Christmas tree! Christmas dinner together, hot sauna, relaxing in the evening. Optional Northern Lights trip to the hill or the lake ice.

 DAY 5 |

After a tasty breakfast transport to Taivalkoski, a culturally rich village and an old grocery store in the village center. Transport to the husky farm. The day will be spent with huskies driving and enjoying the white wilderness with the lovely dog pack! Picnic lunch during the tour.

Transport back to the cabin. Sauna, dinner, accommodation. Today it is maybe possible to photograph the magnificent Northern Lights!

 DAY 6 |

Great breakfast and resting, or day with few different optional activities: 1. self-guided cross-country skiing trip, 2. self-guided snowshoeing trip, 3. snowmobile tour, 4. Downhill skiing day on Iso-Syöte fell. Self-made picnic lunch. Transport back to the accommodation (when needed). A fairwell dinner, sauna. Optional Northern Lights trip to the hill or the lake ice.

DAY 7 | OULU/ PARIS

The departure day. After breakfast and transfer to Oulu airport or bus/railway station.

Finnair flights to Paris.
