ITINERARY
DAY 1 – CONSTABLE POINT
From Reykjavik, you will board a private flight to reach Constable Point.
You will land at the small Nerlerit Inaat airport and will be welcomed aboard Polarfront with a welcome cocktail before departure.
DAYS 2 TO 9
HALL BREDNING FJORD
Today you’ll get up close to some of the Arctic’s most colossal icebergs. Many of these icy giants are stationary, anchored to the bottom of Scoresby Sund, which reaches a depth of only 400 meters. Some of these icy structures are over 100 meters high and more than a kilometer long, inspiring awe. You’ll then disembark for a hike, with beautiful views of the picturesque Hall Bredning and a chance to spot the elusive Arctic hare.
SYDKAP
Located at the entrance to the vast Scoresby Sund, Cape Sydkap is known for its gentle slopes covered in colorful tundra, offering a magnificent panorama of the parade of gigantic icebergs emerging from the Nordvestfjord. In this grandiose Arctic landscape, it is not uncommon to spot musk oxen, Arctic foxes, and seabirds.
BJORNE ISLANDS
In the heart of the vast Scoresby Sund, on Greenland’s east coast, the Bjørne Islands form a small, wild, and uninhabited archipelago. These rocky islets emerge from among icebergs drifting from nearby glaciers, set against a spectacular backdrop of fjords and Arctic mountains. A migratory route for seals, whales, and occasionally polar bears, the islands offer a rare glimpse of the raw, untouched nature of the Arctic.
Ø FJORD
North of the vast Scoresby Sund, Ø Fjord plunges deep (74 km) into a spectacular landscape of geometrically shaped basalt mountains. Dark cliffs tower over waters often choked with icebergs, creating one of the most striking settings in the region, where the silence and immensity of the Arctic take on their full dimension.
HARE FJORD
Hare Fjord, the fjord of the hares, is a narrow fjord bordered by high mountains and steep cliffs. Like its neighbor Rode Fjord, it is filled with gigantic icebergs, ephemeral ice cathedrals, between which you will slalom in a Zodiac. You will also disembark for a hike in the vibrant tundra.
RODE Ø ISLAND
Røde Ø, the Red Island, is a magnificent red sandstone island often described as resembling Mars. Its red rocky slopes, formed from sandstone sediments, offer a striking contrast to the deep blue waters of the Arctic and the vast blue and white icebergs that float in the waters of Scoresby Sund.
VIKINGBUGT
Viking Bay is known for its impressive basalt columns that streak the cliff face and its ice formations. The columns are formed when lava flows slowly cool and shrink, creating hexagonal fissures that can be up to ten meters long. The reddish color of the rocks comes from iron.
You will navigate in a Zodiac at the foot of these vertiginous cliffs and get close to the icebergs.
ITTOQQORTOORMIIT
Ittoqqortoormiit means “settlers with large houses” in Greenlandic.
Located at the mouth of Scoresby Sund, Ittoqqortoormiit is the largest inhabited village in the area. The 400 residents of this isolated outpost rely on the bounty of the Arctic for their needs and live by traditional hunting and fishing. Indeed, it was the richness of the waters flowing into Scoresby Sund that led to the village being established here in 1925.

DAY 10 – CONSTABLE POINT
This is where this beautiful adventure comes to an end.
The disembarkation time will be determined based on the time of the private flight to Reykjavik.
