Dog sledding expedition in Finnmark

Immerse yourself in the deep bond between humans and animals as you explore the pristine wilderness and magical winter lights of the Far North. You will learn the art of dog sledding and how to handle sled dogs.

You’ll sleep in a gamme tent, heated and on a field bed, in the Arctic wilderness, or next to the dogs in the dog yard. All the necessary training is provided so that you are perfectly prepared for this unforgettable adventure.

This adventure is designed for dog enthusiasts, nature lovers, adventurers, the curious and explorers, whether experienced or new to dog sledding.

DAY 1 | LAKSELV

Arrive at Lakselv airport and transfer to the family kennel, where you will be welcomed by a family with their dogs. On the first evening, you’ll take a short sled ride in the area nearby to get a taste of driving a dog sled, familiarising yourself with the equipment and the dogs that will be part of your team.

Overnight stay in a nearby establishment.

DAY 2-4 : EXPEDITION

The following day, meet at the kennel to feed the dogs their breakfast and make sure everything is packed and ready. You will be assigned your own team of dogs to lead and care for. You’ll be sledging through the forest and over mountains, on frozen lakes, and perhaps even down to the Arctic fjord. The main goal is to head north, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views and an authentic Arctic experience

You’ll have all your meals out in the wild, prepared in a traditional manner that locals enjoy on their mountain adventures. After two and a half days on the trail, you will return to the kennel in the afternoon to unpack and enjoy a final dinner together.

The last night will be spent in a nearby facility.

DAY 5 : LAKSELV

After breakfast, transfer to Lakselv for your departure.
