Programme détaillé

DAY 1 : ARRIVAL TO FAROE ISLANDS

After check-in go for a walk around Tórshavn. In the old town you walk by tiny, black-tarred houses with white windows and grass roofs – remember to respect the privacy of the people living in the old houses.

At the end of the day, drop into one of the cafés or bars where you will find the locals relaxing.

Spend the night in Tórshavn.

DAY 2 : VIKING ISLAND SKÚVOY

The Viking Island Skúvoy is full of stories – Enjoy the tranquillity and nature.

Take the local buss from Tórshavn to the island of Sandoy and then the ferry to Skúvoy.

This is the island where the Viking Chieftain Sigmundur Brestisson, was born. Here he built the Faroe Islands first Christian church and is buried.

After arrival, there is coffee and cake, and then a village walk with the host to see the church and the special Viking grave.

DAY 3 : HIKING AND VIEWPOINTS OF SKÚVOY

A day of fresh air, experiences and fantastic viewpoints.

The host will suggest hiking tours which you can to on your own. For example, to the beautiful valley, Fagradal, where you follow a wellmarked path. Enjoy the birdlife and the beautiful view of the nearby island of Sandoy as you walk.In Fagradal you pass some rocks that look like a house ruin. The legend tells that there lived a young girl in Fagradal named Rannvá, the host will tell you the story. A packed lunch is enjoyed on the hike. After a day of fresh air, experiences and fantastic viewpoints, dinner is served.

DAY 4 : ISLAND SANDOY

Saga island Sandoy, small village communities and storytelling.

Return to Sandoy with ferry. Local driver/guide will meet you upon arrival and take you sightseeing around the island. Visit some of the small villages e.g, Sandur, Húsavík, Dalur as you hear the dramatic sagas and stories of the island, inhabited since the Viking Ages. Return to Tórshavn with the buss. From Tórshavn take the ferry Smyril to Suðuroy.

DAY 5 – ISLAND SUÐUROY

The southernmost island – Suðuroy, stunning scenery.

Sightseeing with driver/guide who will show you around this beautiful island, which has a rich history and unforgettable viewpoints. The tour is determined by wind and weather. Lunch en route.

Later in the day we can suggest a walk on your own to the village of Froðba. Here you can see the basalt columns up close and walk down to Kúlugjógv, to see more spectacular basalt rock formations.

DAY 6 – TÓRSHAVN

Enjoy the capital, Tórshavn on your own.

Return to Tórshavn by ferry and we suggest exploring Tórshavn on your own.

Unwind and enjoy Tórshavn’s cozy cafés, local restaurants, or take a stroll through the historic Tinganes district with its iconic red wooden buildings.

Spend the night in Tórshavn.

DAY 7 – ISLAND NÓLSOY

Guided walk on Nólsoy, hear the story of the local hero.

Enjoy a day tour to the island of Nólsoy, located just a short ferry ride from Tórshavn. Explore the charming village, enjoy scenic walks, and discover the island’s rich birdlife and local culture.

Village walk with local guide. Hear the story about the local hero, Ove, who decided to row single-handed to Copenhagen.

On your own you can walk to the top of the island where you have the most wonderful panoramic views of Tórshavn and the nearby islands.

Transfer to the airport and departure.
