Winter atmosphere in the Faroe Islands with a guide

DAY 1 | PARIS / VÁGAR

Regular flights to the Faroe Islands. Transfer from the airport to your accommodation in Tórshavn. After settling into your lodging, you can take a stroll in Tórshavn. Conclude the day by visiting one of the cafes or bars and engaging with the locals. Includes airport transfer.

DAY 2 | VÁGAR ISLAND

Scenic as a postcard – Vágar Island. Pick-up at your hotel. Guided bus tour of Vágar Island. The first stop will be in the small village of Bøur. We’ll take a walk through this charming village while enjoying the panoramic view of Tindhólmur and the rock, Drangarnir. We continue through the island’s only tunnel to the remote and previously isolated village of Gásadalur. Here, we’ll have lunch and walk to the most photographed waterfall in the Faroe Islands, Múlafossur. For dinner, we suggest taking the opportunity to dine in one of the many excellent restaurants in Tórshavn. Includes bus, guide, and lunch.

DAY 3 | SAKSUN / TÓRSHAVN

Highlights and Tales – The villages of Saksun, Tjørnuvík, and Gjógv. Pick-up at your hotel. Bus tour with a guide to the islands of Streymoy and Eysturoy. From Tórshavn, we drive through the mountain road to the village of Saksun, nestled in a natural circular amphitheater above a tidal lagoon. Saksun features a picturesque whitewashed church with a turf roof, often seen in photos of the Faroe Islands. We continue to Tjørnuvík, with a photo stop at the waterfall, Fossá, the highest waterfall in the Faroe Islands. Tjørnuvík is the northernmost village on Streymoy and is beautifully situated at the bottom of a bay surrounded by mountains and a sandy beach. The village offers a fantastic view of giant rock formations and the Witch. Cross the bridge connecting the islands of Eysturoy and Streymoy and continue to the village of Eiði. Here, the most beautiful panorama and nature will enchant you with a view of the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands, Slættaratindur. In Gjógv, we see the harbor from which the village takes its name. Lunch is enjoyed along the way. Includes bus, guide, and lunch.

DAY 4 | TÓRSHAVN

Stroll through the city of Tórshavn – Explore Tórshavn. Meet the guide at the agreed-upon location in the city center. City walk, visit Tinganes and the old part of the town, Reyn. Stop at Østrøm, where you can see and purchase modern Faroese art and crafts. Next door is Steinprent, a lithographic workshop and gallery showcasing their latest works. If you’re interested in Faroese music, stop by Tutl. Be sure to check out these shops Marjun Heimá, Ullvøruhúsið, and Guðrun&Guðrun, which sell the latest Faroese fashion knits. You’ll also discover the cozy old bookstore, which is definitely worth a look inside. We recommend visiting the Nordic House and the Art Gallery, where you can see how the Faroese people, nature, and landscape have influenced Faroese artists over the years. Includes guide.

DAY 5 | VÁGAR / PARIS

Departure from the Faroe Islands after spending the night near the airport. Regular flights to Paris. Includes airport transfer.
