However, each riding day is a full day of snowmobiling with the driving time depending on weather conditions and the collective driving skills.

Detailed program

DAY 1 | PARIS / IVALO

Departure to Finnish Lapland on Finnair scheduled flights. Arrival at Ivalo Airport. Your guide will be waiting for you at Ivalo Airport. From there, you’ll enjoy a short transfer to your accommodation for the first night in a hotel in either Ivalo or Saariselkä village. During the evening, you will receive all the necessary equipment for your adventure. Your guide will also go over the specifics of the tour during a nice welcome dinner.

DAY 2 | HEADING NORTHWARD (approx. 200 km)

We start the morning with a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the day ahead. After breakfast, your guides will provide a thorough lesson on driving and safety before departure. You’ll be briefed on all the necessary features of the snowmobiles and your equipment will be double-checked. Leaving the village behind, we embark on our first day of adventure. Today’s landscapes will transition from frozen lakes and marshes to dense forests and wooded trails. Lunch will be enjoyed along the way. Arriving at our accommodation in the evening will bring smiles all around. A hot sauna will be ready for you, and a wholesome meal awaits. You’ll fall asleep with a big smile on your face.

DAY 3 | BEYOND THE BORDER (approx. 250 km)

After breakfast, we set off once again into the wilderness. Leaving Finland behind, we venture into mountainous terrain. The trails follow along the border rivers before ascending into the mountains. Narrow passes, steep climbs, and endless vistas await. These areas are seldom seen by many as they are accessible by very few means, fortunately, you are driving one of them. Lunch is guaranteed along the way, though likely to be light. Between Finland and our destination, there is literally nowhere to stop. This is the true Arctic. In the evening, descending from the mountains, the distant lights of Mehamn on the northern tip of Norway are a sight to behold. As we pull into the courtyard of our cabins, we are greeted by the owner. The saunas will be warm, and your dinner heated in the kitchen. For a small village of only 800 inhabitants, you will be amazed by the cuisine and level of service. A delightful feast awaits you before a well-deserved night of rest.

DAY 4 | REST AMONG THE FJORDS

Mehamn offers a unique atmosphere. A small fishing village touching the Arctic Ocean, it’s a small yet friendly community. You can spend your rest day relaxing in your cabin, strolling around the village, or joining a king crab fishing excursion (advance booking required). Lunch and dinner will be served at your accommodation.

DAY 5 | THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES (approx. 250 km)

We depart from Mehamn for another day in the mountains. After a day of rest, the thrill of the road returns. We make stops to admire the scenery and enjoy snacks. By now, you’ll feel truly connected to the wilderness and able to fully appreciate the entire day of riding. In the evening, we return to Finland and once again enjoy the warmth of the sauna and the flavors of local cuisine. Why not be brave and try the Finnish tradition of rolling in the snow between the gentle heats of the sauna?

DAY 6 | HEADING SOUTHWARD (approx. 170 km)

Driving southward is easy, after all, it’s mostly downhill, right? The forests become denser as solid tree lines reappear and the terrain has a constantly evolving feel. On this day, we are able to make a solid stop for lunch indoors at a local wilderness spot. We arrive in Inari in the early evening, ready for a hearty meal and quality accommodation.

DAY 7 | FINAL DAY AND CELEBRATIONS (approx. 70-120 km)

Our last day allows us to choose our routes and driving styles, even allowing for some stops for deep snow driving. The distance covered on the final day isn’t extremely long, giving us more freedom to decide how it’s spent. We arrive in Ivalo or Saariselkä in the early evening, preparing for a final festive group dinner. Both Ivalo and Saariselkä offer options for local nightlife, another experience in itself.

DAY 8 | IVALO / PARIS

After breakfast, your guides will arrange an airport transfer to Ivalo Airport. For now, it’s goodbye until we meet again. Everyone can be proud to finish this beautiful adventure because, after all, it’s Extreme Arctic.
