The Kanava Resort consists of 9 villas.

These holiday homes, built from solid CLT wood panels, are located in Puistoniemi at the southern end of the Oravi canal. The nine identical wooden villas are tastefully furnished with high-quality materials and feature large panoramic windows overlooking the Oravi canal, the picturesque Lake Saimaa, and Linnansaari National Park. Bright and spacious, they are ideal for travelers seeking high-quality accommodation in close contact with nature.

Each villa includes a living room/kitchen, dining and lounge area, two bedrooms (each with en-suite toilet and shower), and an electric sauna.

Cottages / Villas

Our cottages and villas offer the perfect setting to relax by the lake in peaceful Finnish nature. Whether you are looking for an active holiday, a quiet retreat, or a family or friends getaway, your holiday starts here.

All accommodations include a sauna, and most feature both an indoor sauna and a traditional outdoor wood-fired sauna for summer use. Each cottage also has a private jetty, a rowing boat, and an outdoor fireplace.

During guided lake excursions (seal safaris, fishing trips, or Saimaa ringed seal tours), your guide can pick you up directly from your own dock. Canoes, kayaks, and fishing equipment are available for rent, allowing you to explore the lake at your own pace.

Your booking always includes bed linen, towels, firewood, final cleaning, and starter kits with cleaning products and paper supplies.

Tallusniemi Villa – From €635/night – Maximum 10 guests

There are 6 Tallusniemi villas.

The villas include 4 suites with private bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and an open-plan living/dining area, as well as an indoor electric sauna and a lakeside wood-fired sauna.

There are 2 Lakeside villas.

The villas have 6 bedrooms, indoor sauna (electric) and lakeside sauna (wood), outdoor hot tub, fully equipped kitchen, 3 bathrooms, laundry room, free Wi-Fi, and spacious living room, which can easily be transformed into conference facilities.

Dining

Along the Oravi canal, two unique restaurants welcome you in charming historical settings: Ruukinranta, located in a former ironworks building, and Makasiiniravintola, with a modern and relaxed atmosphere.

Both restaurants serve international cuisine and local specialties, complemented by entertainment such as dancing, karaoke, and live music.

Ruukinranta Restaurant

Right by the Oravi canal, in the heart of the old ironworks site, you will find Ruukinranta restaurant.

It offers dishes featuring local fish, game, wild mushrooms, and fresh bread from a nearby bakery. On the spacious summer terrace, you can enjoy canal views with a drink or a classic pizza. The à la carte restaurant is open from May 1st to the end of September.

In autumn and winter, Ruukinranta hosts groups by reservation. Upcoming events are announced separately in the calendar.
