Detailed program
Accommodation in Yurts
Living in a yurt will offer you a whole new experience – truly closer to nature – and to your loved ones!
Stay in a yurt in an isolated camp near the ocean.
The camp is ideal for families, couples, and small groups who want to experience something special and different from anything else.
Your host also has expertise as a guide and will be happy to take you on a paddling tour.
Each of the 2 yurts includes:
- Four comfortable beds with high-quality duvets and pillows
- Sheets and blankets included
- A fully equipped kitchen with a gas oven, gas refrigerator with a mini freezer
- A “lounge area” with two comfortable chairs
- Kerosene and wood stoves
- Insulated, making it comfortable even in winter
- No running water; use rainwater or fetch water from a stream
- No TV, radio, or Wi-Fi
- Possibility to charge devices such as mobile phones, iPads, headlamps, etc.
- Composting toilets in the boathouse
- Plenty of space for your clothes, gear, and drying
The yurts are hypoallergenic, so smoking and pets are not allowed.
Boathouse:
- There is plenty of space for equipment, and it’s also a comfortable place for cooking and being together.
- It has a composting toilet. Instead of a shower, we use the sea or the stream.
Access:
It takes about 1 1/2 hours to drive from Tromsø to the ferry that takes you to Rebbenesøya, a 15-minute journey. The outdoor camp has no road access but is easily reached by a 10-minute walk on a slightly hilly path starting at the ferry dock.
The camp is located on the island of Rebbenesøya, north of the city of Tromsø, offering a unique location and atmosphere. This area is part of the northernmost archipelago of mainland Norway.
Eco-camp
Use of natural resources such as solar and wind energy. Rainwater harvesting or water drawn from a nearby stream. Recycling and reusing are central concerns, and we aim to allocate funds for socially beneficial purposes. During excursions, marine debris collection. Support for local initiatives and businesses. Their goal this winter is to achieve eco-certification.
What is a Yurt?
Traditionally, a yurt is a portable, round tent covered with leather or felt, used as a dwelling by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia. Modern yurts are a specially designed variation. They are rustic, very comfortable, and exude a unique and warm atmosphere.
Glamping and “Return to Nature”
The word glamping signifies a combination of luxury and outdoor living. Yurts are insulated and heated with kerosene and wood stoves, making them comfortable even in winter. Light beautifully filters through a glass dome, and the sounds of nature are clear, offering a unique closeness to nature. This form of accommodation with a “room” offers great community with those you travel with.
