Number of participants : Min 4 persons, max 8 persons

Equipment: Participants have their own outdoor clothing due to the weather. Please ask the whole list of equipment after booking.

Equipment included in the price: All the special outdoor equipment for activities.

Supplements : Accommodation in the cabin in family apartment with own toilet & shower (400 €/apartment), winter clothing set 90 €/person/tour

Tour level: Moderate. Participants are required to have normal basic fitness.

Language : English.

Insurance : We require participants to have their own insurance for outdoor activities in Finland.

DAY 1 | PARIS / OULU

Finnair flights to Oulu. Arrival at Oulu Airport or bus/railway station, where your guide is waiting for you. Approximately two-hour transport to Taigalampi cabin or KIDE Hotel. Meeting the group and accommodation. Welcoming dinner and introduction of holiday program after dinner. Safety issues and discussion about sustainable tourism and how we put it into practice during our trip. Hot sauna and sweet dreams surrounded by peaceful and quiet nature.

DAY 2 |

Breakfast at the accommodation. Unforgettable nature holiday starts with snowshoes to the great white forest and fells in Syöte! Meet the snow-covered old trees and hear the stories of life in these remote areas. Delicious lunch in a wooden shelter in the nature by an open fire. Snowshoeing back to the starting point, stretching and relaxing with the instructor. Sauna, dinner, and a good night’s sleep. Day’s distance about 10 km in 5 hours.

DAY 3 |

Early breakfast. Transport to Riisitunturi National Park and nice winter hiking trip around beautiful Riisitunturi fell! Sandwich and picnic lunch in the nature. Visit to the famous Pentikmäki culture center. On the way back to Syöte we make a wonderful stop-by visit to the local sustainable farm where from we buy the meat products to our food services. During this trip you will have a possibility to meet the farmer family at the coffee and sandwich table. On the yard we meet their beautiful cows! Transport back to the accommodation. Dinner after a hot sauna. There might be also a possibility to see the Northern Lights without any light pollution. Day’s hiking distance is approximately 5 km.

 DAY 4 |

Day begins with a tasty breakfast and continues to the well-maintained cross-country skiing tracks! After a short skiing course, we will take a day tour on tracks from hut to hut through attractive landscapes. Lunch during the tour and dinner back in the accommodation. Day’s distance is about 10–25 km, depending on the group.

DAY 5 |

Breakfast and a back-country skiing day trip with skin-based skis. These skis are made for skiing in deep snow and sliding down on the hills.

After a short transport by car, our tracks will go in peaceful and most quiet areas through snow-white forests up to the hills, along the ridges, and over the frozen lakes. We’ll enjoy a delicious soup meal in an open landscape. Skiing back to the starting point, transport back to the accommodation, sauna, and dinner. Skiing distance about 10 km in 5 hours.

DAY 6 |

After breakfast transport to an unforgettable two days husky sled tour! First, you get detailed instructions on how to be a real musher and control your huskies safely through the winter wonderland. You will be driving your own husky pack and have a few hours’ tour through the beautiful Finnish winter scenery.

Night in the wood-heated wilderness cabin, there are no modern amenities, but deep sleep is guaranteed after the active day! Wonderful sauna is an unforgettable experience before dinner and a good night’s sleep in the middle of nowhere!

DAY 7 |

Tour continues in the morning after a tasty and nutritious breakfast back to the husky farm. A snack and goodbyes to your husky pack and transfer by car back to accommodation. During the transport to the cabin, we visit the small village of Taivalkoski and to the old grocery store, Jalavan kauppa. This lovely store was there for the locals and travellers since 1883 with a wonderful variety of everyday goods, Finnish handmade souvenirs and cafe services.

In the evening, we will have a great experience meeting the local reindeer! After meeting the reindeer, it is time for a wonderful fairwell dinner. A hot sauna is available again for you in the evening.

DAY 8 | OULU/ PARIS

After breakfast relaxing in the cabin or short optional activities in the morning. Snowshoes and skin-based skis are available for you for free for a self-made tour.

Transport to Oulu, hotel, Airport, or bus/railway station.

Finnair flights to Paris.
