ModerateCross the icy expanses of Finnmark and experience an Arctic adventure where challenging yourself goes hand in hand with wild wonder.
Detailed program
Take part in a ski expedition through the wild landscapes of Finnmark, deep in the Arctic. This experience will allow you to master backcountry skiing techniques, camp in the wilderness and immerse yourself in the raw beauty of the region. It is recommended that you are in good physical condition and are used to outdoor activities, at least summer camping, but experience of winter camping is also an advantage.
DAY 1 | PARIS / LAKSELV
Arrival at Lakselv Airport, where you’ll be picked up and transported to Pirate Husky in Børselv. Once settled in, meet the dogs and your guides, who will introduce you to the equipment and provide a safety briefing.
You’ll also get an overview of the route and receive training on ski techniques and essential expedition skills.
Overnight: In the authentic Børselv lodge, with dinner.
DAY 2-6 : EXPEDITION
After breakfast, start your adventure from the lodge. One or two dogs will keep you company and help you pull the sled.
Presentation of your sled and expedition equipment, then begin your ski journey across the magnificent Finnmark plateau, crossing mountains, fjords and unspoilt wilderness. The route will be determined by the weather and conditions, but if it looks good on the coast, you’ll head north and spend a night in a camp with heated Gamme tents.
You’ll learn essential wilderness skills, such as building a camp in Arctic conditions and enjoy wild camping in scenic locations each night. Gather around a campfire in the evening for stories and reflection after a day of skiing.
Overnight: Camping in expedition tents in the Arctic wilderness.
DAY 7 : FINAL DAY OF SKIING
In the afternoon, return to the lodge in Børselv, where you can unwind in the sauna and enjoy a celebratory dinner, sharing the memories of your adventure.
Overnight: Lodge stay for your final night.
DAY 8 : LAKSELV / PARIS
After a leisurely breakfast, reflect on your journey before being transferred back to Lakselv for your departure.
