Field experience will be prioritized to teach you how to capture the beauty of cetaceans and the Northern Lights in this postcard-perfect setting.

DAYS 2 TO 7
CETACEAN OBSERVATION
In winter, humpback whales and orcas come to feed on herring in the bay of Skjervøy, in the heart of the Lyngen Alps. Polarfront will sail through a magnificent natural setting of alpine mountains and deep fjords, offering you spectacular views.
Observing orcas and whales will be the main focus of this journey. If conditions allow, it will be possible to approach them by Zodiac, while respecting the rules in place to avoid disturbing them.

NORTHERN LIGHTS OBSERVATION
The month of January offers a perfect balance between longer days following the polar night and dark nights ideal for observing the Northern Lights.
When planning the itinerary, Norwegian weather services are closely monitored, particularly the Kp index, which indicates the probability of Northern Lights at a given location.
Northern Norway lies at an ideal geomagnetic latitude, allowing frequent sightings of the Northern Lights when the sky is clear.

THE NORTH CAPE
If weather conditions allow, you will sail along the Norwegian coast in an attempt to reach the legendary North Cape.
Located at the extreme north of Norway and the European continent, the North Cape is characterized by spectacular cliffs rising above the sea.

This is where your wonderful adventure comes to an end.
