Northern Sweden Grand Tour

DAY 1 | STOCKHOLM

Arrival in Stockholm and pick-up of your vehicle.
First moments in a unique capital built on water. Between islands, bridges and the colorful facades of Gamla Stan, Stockholm offers an elegant and soothing introduction.

DAY 2 | STOCKHOLM / SUNDSVALL

Departure north along the Swedish east coast. Very quickly, the city gives way to a wider, quieter Sweden, where the road unfolds between deep forests and sparkling lakes.
Arrival in Sundsvall, an elegant city rebuilt in a remarkable stone architectural style after its great 19th-century fire.

DAY 3 | SUNDSVALL / UMEÅ

Continue north along the High Coast of Sweden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cliffs, islands, forests and sea panoramas make this one of Scandinavia’s most beautiful routes.

Arrival in Umeå, a dynamic city nicknamed the “city of birches,” where contemporary architecture and Nordic culture meet.

DAY 4 | UMEÅ / SKELLEFTEÅ / LULEÅ

A stunning transitional day along the Gulf of Bothnia. The road winds between sea, boreal forests and quiet villages.
You pass through Skellefteå, a key northern Swedish stop. Here, landscapes become rougher, more northern, almost arctic.

Even without stopping overnight, the passage leaves a strong impression: wide rivers, deep forests, and a true sense of remoteness.

DAY 5 | LULEÅ / KIRUNA

The road now leads into inland Lapland. Landscapes change dramatically: endless forests, softer reliefs, and a feeling of total space.

Arrival in Kiruna, a legendary northern city undergoing transformation and surrounded by spectacular nature.

DAY 6 | KIRUNA – ARCTIC IMMERSION

A full day dedicated to discovering Swedish Lapland:

• Excursion to Abisko National Park, considered one of Scandinavia’s most beautiful landscapes
• Visit to Jukkasjärvi
• Tundra panoramas, gentle mountains and exceptional Arctic Circle light

In the evening, the silence of the Far North takes on its full meaning. Here, everything is space, light and nature.

Second night in Kiruna at Elite Hotel Frost, essential to fully experience this Arctic atmosphere without driving constraints.

DAY 7 | KIRUNA / MORA

Breakfast at the hotel.

A long but unforgettable descent through inland Sweden. Arctic landscapes gradually give way to deep forests, rivers and central Swedish valleys.

A true “cinematic” driving day: silent vastness, isolated villages, untouched nature.

Arrival in Mora, on the shores of Lake Siljan, a true postcard of Dalarna.

Overnight in the Mora area at The Bishops Arms Hotel.

DAY 8 | MORA / STOCKHOLM

Breakfast at the hotel.

Final stage through central Sweden. The road is gentle, bright, lined with forests and peaceful lakes.

Arrival in Stockholm during the day, drop-off of the rental car at the airport.

End of your northern escape, a journey from the southern archipelagos to the endless lands of the Far North, returning through the peaceful landscapes of central Sweden.
