On this unique tour, you’ll step into the role of a real musher, guiding your own team of four sled dogs through the snowy wilderness. Journey deep into one of Europe’s last untouched frontiers, where simplicity meets authenticity. Stay at a remote wilderness camp, fetch water from a frozen lake, warm up in a traditional sauna, and chop firewood like a true northerner.
Marvel at the awe-inspiring northern lights dancing across Lapland’s cold night skies and create memories that will last a lifetime.
The route winds through dense forests, vast moorlands, and frozen lakes and rivers near Jukkasjärvi. Daily distances range from 25 to 50 kilometers, depending on the hut sequence and current weather conditions. Routes and stage lengths may be adjusted to ensure safety and comfort based on snow and weather developments.
Participants should be in good physical condition. Midwinter tours run from early December to mid-April.

DAY1 | KIRUNA
Upon your arrival in Kiruna, a driver will meet you at the agreed location and take you to our husky camp near Jukkasjärvi. In the evening, you’ll gather with your guide and fellow participants for a welcome dinner in our cozy kåta.
After dinner, your guide will provide an overview of the upcoming six-day adventure. You’ll also receive an introduction to handling the sled and working with the dogs, along with essential tips on how to stay safe and comfortable in Arctic conditions.
DAY 2 | DOGSLEDDING
After breakfast in the kåta, you’ll pack your sled and begin the journey to the first overnight cabin, covering approximately 25–35 km. Along the way, you’ll stop for a lunch break with hot drinks, soup, and sandwiches.
Upon arrival at the cabin, the evening routine begins: preparing food for the dogs, collecting water from the nearby lake, and heating the sauna. The day ends with a well-earned dinner and a chance to relax.
DAY 3 to 6 | DOGSLEDDING
The day begins at 7:30 with feeding the dogs. After that, you’ll enjoy breakfast before setting off from the cabin around 10:00 AM. The daily routine remains consistent throughout the tour, as the needs of the dogs—such as rest times and feeding schedules—always take priority.
The route leads through the tundra surrounding Kiruna, one of Europe’s last great wilderness areas. You’ll travel along the Torne River, pass by the famous Icehotel, and continue into the Alasjärvi Nature Reserve.
The exact route is determined by the guide and may be adjusted at short notice depending on conditions—such as extreme temperatures or open water on lakes and rivers.
Some nights may be spent in the same hut, depending on the route, snow conditions and weather.
DAY 7 | DOGSLEDDING
On the final day, you return to the husky camp in the afternoon (1pm – 2pm). It’s time to say goodbye to your dog team – your loyal companions on an unforgettable journey.
We’ll close the tour with a final shared dinner in the cozy kåta – a moment to reflect, share stories, and take in the memories of the past days.

After breakfast, the driver will take you to the airport.

Good to know
- The itinerary provided is a preliminary plan. The route and daily distances may be adjusted due to weather conditions or trail conditions beyond our control. Extremely low temperatures may require shorter stages, while heavy snowfall can slow down the journey and make the trails more demanding. Especially early in the season, some lakes and rivers may be impassable, requiring route changes.
- Team spirit: All participants are expected to help with daily tasks during the stay. This includes fetching water, preparing food for the dogs, collecting firewood, feeding the dogs, and other duties around the camp.
- Group size: Maximum of 6 participants, for an intimate and personalized experience.
