These modern cottages, built using eco-friendly cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels that store carbon, are located in the heart of Lake Saimaa, in the village of Oravi, on a narrow promontory between Linnansaari National Park and Kolovesi National Park. Steeped in history, this unique location captivates visitors with its exceptional setting and warm atmosphere.

Each cottage offers breathtaking views over Lake Saimaa. Bright and spacious, these modern lodges are the ideal choice for travelers seeking high-quality accommodation and a close connection with nature. A shared swimming pool and private jetty are also available on site.

Lakeside Cottages on Lake Saimaa

The bright and modern cottages at Kanava Resort are located at the tip of Puistoniemi, where Lake Saimaa meets the Oravi Canal. Each cottage offers a unique view: you can watch life along the canal, admire Haukivesi and the scattered islands of Linnansaari National Park, or take in the vastness of the lake. The scenery is always breathtaking—and in spring, some lucky guests have even spotted a Saimaa ringed seal from their window.

Designed for relaxation and shared moments, the cottages feature an open-plan living space where everyone can gather, while a comfortable sofa and large picture windows bring nature indoors. Outside, a private terrace with a barbecue awaits. Some cottages are pet-friendly, allowing your four-legged companions to fully enjoy the holiday as well.

Bedrooms

• Double beds (sleeping 4 in total); in the smaller bedroom, the beds can be separated into twin beds
• Bed linen and towels for four guests included
• Please indicate at the time of booking if you require an extra bed or a baby cot. An additional bed can be prepared on the living room sofa bed and is available upon request. Bed linen and towels are available at an extra charge of €30 per person

• Modern kitchen equipped with a fridge-freezer, oven, induction cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, and tableware for eight people
• Additional sleeping space for two on a sofa bed
• Fireplace with firewood provided
• Summer terrace with an electric barbecue and a dining table for six people

The resort offers a shared parking area and four electric vehicle charging stations (at an additional cost). You may park your vehicle in front of your cottage to unload your luggage, but please move it afterwards to the main parking area to keep access roads clear. Transfers between Savonlinna Airport and Kanava Resort are available upon request.

Paths leading from the cottages take you to the Kanava Resort’s private, shallow sandy beach, which also features a shared dock.

At the beach, you will also find the Kanava Resort’s private campfire area. Firewood for the campfire is available in each cottage as well as in the woodshed located near the end of the resort.

Kanava Resort is located in the small village of Oravi in eastern Finland, in the heart of the country’s most beautiful lake district. Surrounded by Lake Saimaa and its endless recreational opportunities, Oravi is just a short drive from two stunning national parks, as well as historic sites such as Olavinlinna Castle and the Punkaharju Ridge.
