Detailed program

DAY 1 | PARIS / IVALO

Flight to Finnish Lapland on regular Finnair flights. Arrival at Ivalo Airport. Transfer from Ivalo Airport to the village of Inari. During the transfer, you will receive the itinerary for your stay and an entry voucher for the Siida Museum. Transfer duration is approximately 1 hour.

Before or after dinner, learn more about the Northern Lights. Your guide will present beautiful photos of the Aurora. You will learn why the Northern Lights appear. You will also learn which locations to use in anticipation of capturing the auroras and a bit about camera settings for photographing them. Duration: 1 hour.

DAY 2 | SAMI CULTURE, SNOWSHOEING, AND NORTHERN LIGHTS CAMP

Siida Sami Museum

Siida, the Sami museum, is the best place to learn about the indigenous people of Lapland, their history, and their culture. The museum also features fascinating exhibits on Lapland’s nature and the enchanting Northern Lights. The museum is open from Monday to Saturday, from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Snowshoeing in Lapland’s Nature

Stay afloat on the deep snow and enjoy the beauty of the winter forest with your guide on a snowshoeing trek. Your guide will tell you about the surrounding nature, and if you get thirsty, they will serve you a hot drink. Duration: 2 hours.

Exclusive Northern Lights Camp

Why settle for the ordinary when you can choose the exclusive version of the Northern Lights Camp!

In this excursion, you’ll have much more to discover than most Northern Lights activities. Your guide will take you by snowmobile sled to the camp, located in an area free from light pollution. Under a traditional kota, your guide will prepare a delicious snack, an open-fire reindeer burger. Freshly fried reindeer meat between rye bread, spiced with lingonberries and marinated cucumber, truly an unforgettable treat. During the excursion, you’ll have the opportunity to venture out into the snow on snowshoes, experiencing the silence of the Arctic nature, hearing the sound of the snow under your feet—things that only the Arctic can offer. With luck, the dancing Northern Lights will color the sky above as you simply relax and enjoy or perhaps capture them with your camera. Your guide will explain the Aurora as a phenomenon and assist you in finding the right settings to photograph them with your own camera.

Duration: approx. 3.5 hours.

DAY 3 | DOG SLEDDING AND NORTHERN LIGHTS HUNT

Husky Safari

In the morning, transfer to the husky farm for your next adventure. Assist the musher in preparing the husky team for the ride of your life. Dog sledding is a truly unique and exhilarating way to experience the beauty and silence of the Arctic nature.

Duration: 3 hours

Northern Lights Hunt by Car

If you didn’t see the Northern Lights on the snowmobile excursion the previous night, you’ll have a second chance tonight! When hunting for those unpredictable Northern Lights, sometimes it helps to be able to travel greater distances in search of a clear sky. Your guide knows where to go for the best views! The rest is a matter of luck.
