Husky adventure in the wilderness

DAY 1 | HUSKY SAFARY

Arrive at our husky, reindeer and horse camp, where your adventure begins. Your local guide will lead you to the peaceful Aurora wilderness cabins, located just 1.5 km from the main camp, nestled in the heart of the forest. These cozy cabins, heated by a pellet stove, offer a comfortable and eco-friendly retreat, complete with an eco-toilet for your convenience. After settling in, you’ll suit up in warm overalls and return to the main camp for a delicious lunch.

Following the lunch, your guide will introduce you to the husky teams, providing essential safety instructions and tips on how to handle the sleds. Then, it’s time for your first safari – a 6-10 km ride to get acquainted with your huskies. After the ride, you’ll help care for the dogs, feeding them snacks and water.

After returning to your comfortable cabins and having some rest it is time for a relaxing sauna bath. After sauna a delicious dinner is served in the nearby Metsola hut.

Later in the evening, you’ll be treated to an unforgettable husky tour under the stars. You can relax in the sled while your guide drives the husky team, letting you take in the peaceful beauty of the snowy forest and, with a bit of luck, the Northern Lights. Along the way, we’ll stop at a shelter for a light snack before heading back to the cabins for a well-earned rest.

DAY 2 | HUSKY SAFARI

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the Metsola cabin, then head back to the camp, where the eager huskies are waiting for you. Today, you’ll harness the dogs and set out on a longer safari through the winter forest, covering 15-18 km. On the way, we’ll stop for a picnic lunch prepared over a campfire.

After returning to camp, we’ll care for the dogs and then head back to the cabins. Enjoy some downtime before a relaxing sauna experience, warming up in the traditional Finnish sauna to unwind after the day’s adventures. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner in the Metsola cabin, reflecting on the day’s journey.

DAY 3 | HUSKY SAFARI

Following breakfast at Metsola cabin, it’s time for a full-day husky safari in the stunning Lappish wilderness. After harnessing the dogs, you’ll embark on a journey of 20-45 km, traversing beautiful, snowy landscapes. During the day, we’ll prepare a picnic lunch by a campfire, immersing ourselves in the serene Arctic environment.

In the afternoon, we’ll return to the camp, where you’ll care for the huskies one final time before enjoying a farewell coffee. Say your goodbyes to the dogs, then head back to the cabins to change clothes. After check-out, we’ll transfer you back to Levi, concluding your unforgettable Arctic adventure.
