DAY 1 | WHITEHORSE

Bienvenue Welcome to Whitehorse, the capital of the Yukon Territory! Your guide will greet you at the airport and arrange your transfer to your hotel, where you will meet the other travelers in your group. Once settled, we will hold a brief orientation meeting to discuss the upcoming journey and answer any questions you may have. We look forward to sharing this exceptional adventure with you! (Hotel accommodation in Whitehorse).
DAY 2 | WHITEHORSE / HAINES JUNCTION

Après After breakfast, we will have the opportunity to explore the capital of the Yukon. Our discovery of Whitehorse may include a visit to the SS Klondike, a restored paddle steamer located along the Yukon River. We will then begin a short journey west along the Alaska Highway to Haines Junction. This charming village is nestled right beside Kluane National Park, home to a significant portion of the largest non-polar icefields on the planet, as well as diverse wildlife.
Depending on the weather and the group’s interests, we may enjoy a short guided hike within the national park and charter a bush plane to fly over the spectacular glaciers that stretch beyond the mountain ranges (optional). This day promises to be an immersive experience in the heart of Yukon’s wilderness.
(Hotel accommodation in Haines Junction).
DAY 3 | HAINES JUNCTION / TOK

Today, we travel along the scenic shoreline of Kluane Lake, which stretches for eighty kilometers. Our first stop will be the Sheep Mountain Visitor Center, where there is an excellent chance of spotting Dall sheep that inhabit the surrounding mountains. Shortly after, we will stop at Soldier’s Summit. This site provides detailed information about the construction of the Alaska Highway and commemorates the official opening ceremony that took place on November 20, 1942.
Later in the afternoon, we will reach the Alaska–Canada border (ALCAN). We will continue our journey along the Alaska Highway to Tok, a small town with a unique charm, typical of the North. (Hotel accommodation in Tok).
DAY 4 | TOK / VALDEZ

The first part of our day takes us along the scenic Glenn Highway, through the magnificent Wrangell–St. Elias National Park. We then follow the Richardson Highway south toward the picturesque port of Valdez, located on the Pacific coast. Our journey leads us through the coastal mountain range via Thompson Pass, where majestic waterfalls cascade down the mountainsides right beside the road.
Valdez, often referred to as the “Little Switzerland,” is a charming town nestled among towering, snow-capped mountains. It is also the southern terminus of the world-famous Trans-Alaska Pipeline, where massive oil tankers dock, adding a unique dimension to the town’s atmosphere. (Hotel accommodation in Valdez).
DAY 5 | VALDEZ / WHITTIER / SEWARD

Today, we have the pleasure of crossing Prince William Sound aboard a ferry—a truly breathtaking experience, highlighted by the stunning landscapes of Alaska’s coastline. This journey will bring us closer to the majestic glaciers lining the Pacific coast and offer opportunities to observe a variety of marine wildlife along the way. With a bit of luck, we may be able to photograph sea otters, puffins, sea lions, and even whales.
After reaching land, our next stops will be the Portage and Byron glaciers, before continuing through the spectacular scenery of the Chugach Mountains, dotted with glacial lakes and rivers, on our way to the coastal town of Seward. In this charming seaside town, take the time to enjoy the famous Alaskan king crab at one of the many local restaurants and savor a peaceful stroll along the waterfront. (Hotel accommodation in Seward).
DAY 6 | SEWARD / ANCHORAGE

Seward is world-renowned for Kenai Fjords National Park, offering some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in the world. We highly recommend taking advantage of the optional marine cruise in the park this morning.
Then, our day continues with a drive through the majestic Kenai Mountains, followed by a scenic route along the Turnagain Arm to Anchorage. Keep a keen eye out for beluga whales, which can sometimes be seen hunting in the waters along the road.
The rest of the day is free for you to explore Alaska’s largest city at your own pace. You may also choose to visit Lake Hood and Lake Spenard, where up to 800 seaplanes take off and land each day. Nearby, the Aviation Museum offers a great opportunity to appreciate this important aspect of life in Alaska.
Finally, we will all gather for a delicious dinner together in this vibrant city. (Hotel accommodation in Anchorage).
DAY 7 | ANCHORAGE / PARC NATIONAL DENALI

Today, we leave the splendor of the Pacific coast behind and venture inland. The George Parks Highway takes us north through the majestic Denali National Park, offering panoramic views of distant glaciers and numerous beaver dams along the river.
In the late afternoon, a unique opportunity awaits: an optional one-hour flight over Denali (formerly Mount McKinley), the highest peak in North America, rising to 6,193 meters. This experience is highly recommended when weather conditions are favorable. (Hotel accommodation near the park).
DAY 8 | PARC NATIONAL DENALI

In the morning, we will board a Denali park bus to enjoy some of the most scenic landscapes in North America. This experience is undoubtedly a highlight and appeals to the vast majority of visitors. Weather permitting, we will have the chance to admire the majestic Denali, and with a bit of luck, we may also spot wolves, Dall sheep, moose, caribou, and grizzly bears along the scenic route. (Hotel accommodation near the park).
DAY 9 | PARC NATIONAL DENALI / FAIRBANKS

Back on the George Parks Highway, we will reach the city of Fairbanks in the early afternoon, often referred to as the “City of the Midnight Sun.” Located about 320 kilometers south of the Arctic Circle, Fairbanks has a distinctly northern atmosphere.
The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the city and its surroundings. You may choose to visit various museums to deepen your knowledge of Alaska’s geology and history, or enjoy a pleasant walk along the Chena River and through downtown. An optional guided paddlewheel boat cruise on the Chena River is also available for those wishing to discover the region in a more immersive way. (Hotel accommodation in Fairbanks).
DAY 10 | FAIRBANKS / DAWSON CITY

Today, we head back toward Canada. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to spot the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, which runs alongside the highway near the Tanana River. At Delta Junction, we will join the Alaska Highway toward Tok, where we will take a well-deserved break.
We then enter the alpine tundra along the Top of the World Highway, passing through picturesque northern settlements such as Chicken and Wade Camp. We will cross the international border once again at Little Gold Creek, the highest land border crossing on the continent.
In the afternoon, we will cross the Yukon River by ferry to reach the famous historic gold rush town of Dawson City. (Hotel accommodation in Dawson).
DAY 11 | DAWSON CITY

The echoes of the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush still resonate through the streets of Dawson City today. Immerse yourself in Dawson’s rich and storied history by exploring Jack London’s cabin, discovering the exhibits at the Dawson City Museum, and trying your hand at gold panning along a creek in the goldfields.
Stroll through the heart of town to admire its vibrant Gold Rush-era architecture and meet its friendly residents. As night falls, Dawson comes alive with musical entertainment reminiscent of the early 20th century, and the French Cancan dancers lift their skirts for an unforgettable evening at Diamond Tooth Gerties Casino. (Hotel accommodation in Dawson).
DAY 12 | AUTOROUTE DEMPSTER

We will start our day with an early departure toward the Dempster Highway to fully explore this breathtaking region. This gravel road, stretching 738 kilometers northward, is built on permafrost and represents the only road connection to the town of Inuvik and the Arctic coast.
Our route takes us to Tombstone Territorial Park, where the Arctic tundra stretches majestically, dominated by imposing dark mountains that give the park its ominous name. Back in Dawson, we will climb Midnight Dome to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view. (Hotel accommodation in Dawson City).
DAY 13 | DAWSON CITY – WHITEHORSE

Our day takes us back to Whitehorse along the scenic Klondike Highway. Along the way, the majestic Yukon River—one of the longest waterways in North America and a vital historic artery of the Yukon and Alaska—will unfold before us.
We will stop at the famous Five Finger Rapids, renowned for their power, and have the opportunity to stroll through historic post offices, roadside lodges, and small villages that give the region its unique northern character.
In the late afternoon, we will arrive in Whitehorse, where we will have the chance to visit Miles Canyon, a spectacular natural site where the Yukon River has carved its way through a basalt lava flow. (Hotel accommodation in Whitehorse).
DAY 14 | SKAGWAY

From Whitehorse, a day trip takes us back along the Klondike Highway south toward the Alaska coast. This route offers countless opportunities to capture memorable images, whether passing through the Carcross Desert or admiring the vibrant Emerald Lake.
Over just 175 kilometers, we will travel through an impressive variety of ecoregions and alpine landscapes on our way to the port of Skagway. Like Dawson, Skagway is a legendary historic Gold Rush town that has preserved its early 20th-century charm.
For an authentic White Pass experience, you may choose to take an optional narrow-gauge railway journey to Skagway, Fraser, or Carcross. (Hotel accommodation in Whitehorse).
DAY 15 | WHITEHORSE
Our journey comes to an end today, giving you the opportunity to relax or do some shopping in Whitehorse before heading home. Transfer to the airport or to your next destination.
Please note that this trip is organized as an expedition, and itinerary changes due to weather conditions or other circumstances may occur and will be made at the guide’s discretion.
