Experience the midwinter under the northern lights

DAY 1 | ALTA OR TROMSØ

Arrival at Alta or Tromsø Airport.

Transfer to your accommodation.

The wonderful route is perfect for letting your eyes wander and marveling at the impressive mountains and fjords. Once you arrive at Oksfjordhjem, you will have enough time to get settled in before we serve you food prepared on open fire.

DAY 2 | TOUR WITH SLED DOGS

Breakfast.

We go out with the sleddogs (with wheeled carts or sleds, depending on the snow). During the tour we take a break, when we have time to pet the huskies, give for them snacks, we also prepare something for ourselves on the fire.

Back to the accommodation.

Relaxation.

Dinner.

DAY 3 | WHALE SAFARI

Breakfast.

We go on a whale safari where we look for orcas from Skjervoy island, what is a world-famous whale watching place. This is an external guided tour where other people will be also, not only our group.

DAY 4 | SNOWHOE HIKE

Breakfast.

We go on a hike with snowshoes (in the case of no snow in  normal shoes) and try to reach a spectacular viewpoint: forest, waterfall, lake, river, mountain peak, valley – depending on the conditions and participants. During the tour we stop at a nice place to eat.

DAY 5 | NORTHERN LIGHTS HUNTING

Breakfast.

You can use the morning to relax.

Lunch.

We meet in the early afternoon to go hunting for the Northern Lights. We drive to the best places in Norway and warm up by the fire while we hopefully marvel at the natural spectacle.

DAY 6 | MEET THE SAMI CULTURE IN ALTA                

Breakfast.

We visit the world of the Sami and their reindeers in Alta. We let ourselves be captivated by their stories, centuries-old traditions of the indigenous people of Scandinavia. This is an external guided tour, there will be several more participants on the tour. At a subsequent dinner in the appropriate atmosphere, we enjoy the traditional Sami food. Back to the accommodation.Night.

DAY 7 | AURORA SPIRIT DISTILLERY TOUR OR A ROAD TRIP IN THE LYNGEN ALPS

Breakfast.

The seventh day promises an Aurora Spirit Distillery Tour in the northernmost distillery in the world. You can also try one or two fine wines. For those groups who would prefer a road trip in the Lyngen Alps, this can be chosen as an alternative.

DAY 8 | ALTA OR TROMSØ

Breakfast.

Departure from your accommodation and transfer to Alta or Tromsø Airport.

In the Norwegian Lapland, very north parth of Norway between the amazing fjords and 350 kilometers above the Arctic Circle. 70 km from Alta, what is the northernmost city in the world and called as the city of the northern lights. A few minutes from the E6 highway which continues towards Nordkapp. Next to the Reisa National Park and to the Skjervoy world famous whale watching island. Few meters from the snowmobile trail. Away from the hustle and bustle, in the Oksfjord valley next to the fjords, surrounded by mountains, forest, lake, crystal clear rivers. Oksfjordhjem is located in the middle of the real Norwegian landscape. Lapland is the last wilderness in Europe, it should be on everyone’s bucket list…

The meals are included during your stay; you will prepare them yourself in the morning and evening so as not to disturb your privacy in the accommodation. We take care of the food during the tours.
