Aurora chasing adventure in Vuokatti

DAY 1 | KAJAANI

Arrival to Kajaani airport, transfer to your accommodation in Vuokatti.

Check-in and time to explore the resort. Arrival days are Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

DAY 2 | NORTHERN LIGHTS HUSKY ADVENTURE

Join for an enchanting evening journey through the peaceful, snow-covered wilderness of Vuokatti – comfortably seated in a husky sled driven by a professional guide. As guests glide silently across snowy trails, wrapped in warm blankets, there is even the possibility of witnessing the stunning aurora borealis lighting up the night sky.

The crisp Arctic air can be felt on the face while the enthusiastic huskies lead the way, offering a calm ride through this magical winter landscape.

After the ride, guests meet the friendly husky team, learn about their personalities, and discover how they work closely with their mushers.

The evening concludes around an open fire with hot drinks and traditional Finnish snacks in a cosy setting – the perfect end to a memorable winter experience.

The route length is 6 km, and the duration of the excursion is just over 2 hours including transfers.

DAY 3 | NORTHERN LIGHTS SNOWMOBILE EXPEDITION

Experience the thrill of Vuokatti’s wild nature and breathtaking winter scenery on a snowmobile safari!

Before departure, a professional guide provides driving instructions and introduces the snowmobiles. Driving a snowmobile at dusk is an exciting experience, even for those already familiar with the activity.

With a bit of luck, it is possible to witness nature’s most magical light show: the Aurora Borealis. The journey takes place on brand-new Touring model snowmobiles, equipped with the latest technology to ensure a safer and more environmentally friendly ride with lower emissions.

On the way back, a cozy break includes hot drinks and sweet snacks. The route covers approximately 20 km through beautiful winter landscapes. The duration of the excursion is about 3 hours including transfers.

DAY 4 | MAGIC OF THE NORTHERN LIGHTS ON SNOWSHOES

When nature is covered by dusk, it is time to go in search of the magical Northern Lights. This snowshoe adventure is the perfect way to explore the winter landscape in an authentic way, and with a bit of luck, to witness the stunning Aurora Borealis.

The experience begins with an introduction to snowshoeing. The group then heads safely into the forest, led by an experienced local guide. The deeper the journey goes, the more impressive the night scenery becomes. Enjoy the peaceful snowy forest and quiet nature while listening to stories about the surrounding environment.

Along the way, a stop is made by an open fire, with hot drinks and snacks. The route length is approximately 2 km, and the duration of the excursion, including transfers, is about 2.5 hours.
